The Volkswagen T7, which just a few days ago showed us its California camper version and of which we already knew its "bus" Multivan version, now reveals the Transporter and Caravelle versions; that is, the variants intended for the transport of cargo and passengers. The most important innovations in terms of design are found above all in the front, with a much more refined grille and stylized, which already includes the brand's new logo (more minimalist) and in which the upper part is faired. The optics, bumpers and wheels also adopt new shapes.

Precisely on the right side of the front of the unit that we see above these lines is the charging mouth that will not only feed the plug-in hybrid versions... and yes, the range incorporates as an absolute novelty up to three 100% electric versions focused on last mile delivery, for example. They will be called e-Caravelle and e-Transporter and can develop 136, 218 or even 286 hp, all of them with a 64 kWh net battery for around 336 km of autonomy.

In addition, they will continue to be on sale three turbodiesel options with 110, 150 and 170 hp (the latter equipped as standard with an eight-speed automatic gearbox that will be optional in the middle version) and a plug-in hybrid option with 232 hp and around 60 km of electric autonomy. By the way, both the 150 and 170 hp versions can be associated with the 4Motion all-wheel drive system and a more "offroader" finish called PanAmericana.

As the press release states, "the load volume of the Transporter with a normal wheelbase and roof increases by more than 10% to 5,8 cubic metres. With a long wheelbase and high roof, the load volume of the Transporter increases to 9,0 cubic metres. Maximum payload up to 1,33 tons (0,13 t additional) corresponds to the larger load volume. Volkswagen has also increased the maximum towing capacity by 0,3 t, which now amounts to 2,8 t (braked, with a gradient of 12%).»
