The evolution of the automotive sector has been more closely tied to certain regions of the globe. Europe, Japan, and the US have dominated the major advancements, but South Korea has managed to catch up in just a few decades. The other major regions have lagged behind, with China and India being prime examples. But China is on track to overtake us, and India is gradually following suit. The proof: the Tresa Model V0.1 electric truck.
The name Tresa Motors might sound familiar, and for good reason. It's a manufacturer (if you can even call it that) of electric heavy vehicles, founded sometime this year, 2023. In fact, there isn't much more information available about them than what they publish on their official website. Nevertheless, they've developed an electric truck with which they promise to revolutionize the transportation sector in their home country. But they're aiming very high.
The electric Tresa Model V0.1 truck promises a towing capacity of 18 to 55 tons…
As you can see, Tresa Motors has released very few images. While they are available on their website, downloading them is complicated due to the lack of a logical sequence for use. The fact is, the Model V0.1 is a truck that, in terms of design, closely resembles other offerings from Western brands. Its lines are simple, straight, and functional, as it's presumably a vehicle intended for a specific use: transportation.
While not exactly the same, in terms of technical design and market positioning, the Model V0.1 resembles Tesla's Cybertruck . It shares with this model the sharp, almost angular lines of the windshield and the sharp edges of the bumpers and cargo bed. The main difference lies in the design of its headlights and other elements that define its style. In fact, its creation involved months of intensive simulations in ANSYS and MATLAB.
In short, the exterior design of the Tresa Model V0.1 is very futuristic . However, despite the hours its creators have spent in the simulator, it appears to be a very early prototype. In fact, the body panels seem provisional and of only fair quality. Furthermore, there isn't a single image of the interior, so they are surely still figuring out how to address this aspect. Nevertheless, they have announced some very interesting details…
Its development has taken place in India and has state-of-the-art technology…
As we mentioned earlier, the Model V0.1 boasts a towing capacity ranging from 18 to 55 tons . And that's about all we can say, as the Indian company doesn't provide much more information regarding its electric powertrain or the type and capacity of the batteries that power it. However, they do loudly proclaim that its technology is based on their innovative axial flux motor platform: the FLUX350, about which they offer a few details…
They're not many, but the FLUX350 axial flux motor technology offers up to 350 kW of power . The manufacturer claims, based on their own data, that it's the only Indian electric truck offering this power. They also point out that Axial Flux motors offer a compact size and superior lightness compared to others. And that's all for now, as this project doesn't yet have a launch date, but they're convinced it will be very soon…
What do you think…?
