Volkswagen has left some clues about the sports version of its new electric sedan, which will be called Volkswagen ID.7 GTX. The German brand has launched this collage of images in which you can see some features of the car, but nothing that brings a great novelty. At least, they have communicated some details.
GTX are the acronyms that the automobile firm uses in the high-performance versions of its electric cars. After the ID.4 and ID.5 GTX, the VW ID.7 sedan will be the third model to have this more performance variant. As reported by Volkswagen itself, the official presentation of this version will take place at the Munich Hall, in early September.
The Volkswagen ID.7 GTX will have all-wheel drive, although the power is unknown
At the moment, the Volkswagen ID.7 that the brand presented to us a few weeks ago It was launched exclusively with a rear-axle motor, yielding 286 CV and 545 Nm, and being powered by either a 77 kWh battery or an 86 kWh battery in the Pro S version, to give an approved range of 700 kilometers.
However, the GTX version that was just confirmed It will have two engines, that is, it will be four-wheel drive.. No power, performance or autonomy data has yet been revealed, but we can expect that will easily exceed 300 hp and, in principle, it will equip the battery with the highest capacity. In any case, they are assumptions.
It is the top of the range and wants to convey that it is a sports version
For VW, the ID.7 GTX will be the flagship model of the ID family. Be careful, I'm not saying it, that's how they declare it themselves. In this car there will be no lack of "gait dynamics manager”, which is software to control the powertrain, steering, chassis control and even braking depending on the selected driving mode. In the same way, it has specific adjustments in the set-up and in the direction different from those of the rest of the range.
To level aesthetic, we have not yet been able to see the car in full. However, we can expect multiple contrasts of red and black tones. In fact, we already see it in the teaser in the header, with the bodywork in red and the inscriptions and other black details, such as the roof, the outlines of the windows or the mirrors. These contrasts will also be replicated inside.
We will have to wait until the next month of September to know in depth each and every one of the details of the Volkswagen ID.7 GTX, if the brand of "the people's car" does not decide to anticipate the information.
