Weeks ago, we published a review of one of the world's most famous pickup trucks , and probably the most effective one sold on this side of the Atlantic. I'm referring to the Toyota Hilux , which received an equipment update at the beginning of the year. Now, the Japanese company is launching a new version to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the first Hilux.
Dubbed the Toyota Hilux Invincible , this edition boasts a striking, aggressive, and quite distinctive aesthetic. As the brand itself states, it features a robust, muscular, and powerful design . Visually, it certainly looks more like a model geared towards the American market than the European one. But let's see what this edition actually offers.

It's not difficult to distinguish a regular Toyota Hilux from a Toyota Hilux Invincible. It's easily recognizable by several blacked-out elements , such as the prominent plastic cladding on the lower front, the wheel arches, the side steps, and the unique 18-inch wheels. In addition, there are the striking black roll bars located behind the cab.
Meanwhile, in terms of equipment, it comes standard with automatic climate control, a leather steering wheel, the Toyota Touch 2 multimedia system with a 7-inch touchscreen, a rearview camera, and front and rear parking sensors. Equally important is the comprehensive Toyota Safety Sense suite, which includes driver assistance and safety systems such as automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and traffic sign recognition.

Regarding the mechanics , there are no changes compared to the Hilux we tested a few weeks ago. It has the 2.4 D-4D engine with 150 hp and 340 Nm of torque . This engine can be paired with either a six-speed manual transmission or an ECT automatic transmission with the same number of gears. As for prices , the manual version costs €38.270 and the automatic €40.270.
