And this drastic change will be the one that dictates its commercial end, in 2014.

Apparently, the person in charge of the Macan range, Sebastian Staiger, has said when the sale of the thermal version of the current Macan would cease. According to words collected by Autocar…

"There are many limiting factors in a vehicle project. One of these factors, of course, is legislation. The emissions laws are another limiting factor. Today, no final decision has been made, but we assume that 2024 will be the year."

And you may wonder why Porsche would be in such a hurry to eliminate the thermal Macan? Well, very simple, because the Euro 7 regulation comes into force in 2025. Therefore, taking into account that it is much more restrictive than Euro 6, it does not pay to update certain thermal mechanics. Hence, those responsible for the firm, plus the entire Volkswagen Group, are focusing all their engineering and economic effort on developing their new electric cars.

With everything, we know that the new Porsche Macan EV will be presented sometime in 2022. Its sale would take place at some point in 2023, just at the end of the current cycle.
