The rebirth of Lancia is a fact and soon it will be sold again in Spain...

Lancia future plan (2) - Lancia Ypsilon

Since the now-defunct FCA and PSA groups merged, the news hasn't stopped . The union has created a universe that, for many, seemed almost impossible to manage effectively. The Volkswagen Group exemplifies a management style that combines efficiency with slowness, and that's often not a good thing. However, they had an ace up their sleeve: Stellantis is headed by Carlos Tavares, one of the best CEOs.

And let's face it, even with everything stacked against them, they've invested in all the brands that make up Stellantis. Lancia was one of the most at risk, as its operations were limited to its home country of Italy, and it was already a veteran model. If it hadn't been for the synergies they envisioned, it probably would have died. But that's all in the past, and now it's time to talk about the future, which is why they've met in Turin. And watch out, because it will be on sale in Spain very soon …

Francesco Colonnese will be the new "Brand Manager" of Lancia for Spain...

New Lancia Ypsilon Alberta Ferretti 2022

As you know, because we've told you here, the new generation of the Lancia Ypsilon will arrive in 2024. The iconic city car will be redesigned to update its selling points and, above all, adapt to electrification. It will be larger, approaching 4 meters in length , and, positioned in the B segment, will have an electric powertrain. Looking ahead to 2026, Lancia's flagship model will arrive. It will be called the Aurelia , will be 4,6 meters long, and will be electric.

By 2028, a legend is set to return. The new Lancia Delta will be 4,4 meters long and will be a sculpted, muscular model sporting geometric lines reminiscent of its earlier predecessors. With these three models, they aim to capture 50% of the market share in the sector, and especially in the premium segment. This fulfills the "Dare Forward 2030" strategic plan that Stellantis announced a few months ago.

The result of this strategy will be as follows. Starting in 2026, they will only sell 100% electric vehicles, and by 2028, their sales will be limited to this type of vehicle. All of this will be under a new sales model that they claim is innovative. Specifically, 50% of sales will be managed directly through an online channel, impacting the operating margin per unit sold, as it will be higher by eliminating dealerships as intermediaries.

And most importantly, to achieve these goals, they need to return to Europe. Outside of Italy, there will be a total of 100 new dealerships spread across 60 major cities . In fact, Lancia is already prepared and has appointed five Brand Managers for France, Germany, Spain, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Francesco Colonnese has been chosen for Spain, although we don't yet know when they will officially begin operations .

It will be later, perhaps when they present the new Ypsilon, that we will have more data. It's time to be patient...
