We have been talking for months and months about this product that has finally become official. It is neither more nor less than first electric car brand Subaru. His name is Subaru Solterra, a denomination that also gave much to talk about. But beyond what this car is called, the importance is practically vital for the future of the company in the European market. By the way, its arrival on the market is planned by mid 2022.

The first thing to note is that it has been produced on the new exclusive platform for electric cars developed between Subaru and Toyota. You already know that both firms have joint agreements to produce vehicles. In Subaru's case this platform is called e-Subaru, while in his compatriot it is the e-TNGA.
Front and four wheel drive for the Subaru Solterra
Although we still do not have all the performance data, in the presentation of this Solterra the Japanese firm has confirmed that there will be two variants mechanical. There will be a simple drive to the front axle with 204 CV and another four-wheel drive with a power of 218 hp.
The supply of these electric motors will be in charge of a 71,4 kWh battery, which is logically the same as in his fellow Toyota. In theory, and according to Subaru's words, it will be capable of traveling "up to 530 kilometers" on a single charge, although we still do not have the specific WLTP homologation data (for Europe). What we do know is that it supports fast recharges of up to 150 kW.
This model will feature three driving modes (Normal, Eco and Power), which logically change the response of the vehicle in terms of response. In addition, the 4×4 versions will have the X mode typical of the brand, which adapts electronic management to improve capabilities on delicate surfaces, also adding the descent control system.
It also has different retention modes manageable by the driver through the paddles that are located on the steering wheel, as in many other electric cars.
In terms of dimensions, it is a relatively large car. We are talking about a length of 4,69 meters, a width of 1,86 and its height is 1,65. Meanwhile, the wheelbase stands at 2,85 meters. As in most Subaru models its free height stands out, which is 210 millimeters.
