Skoda Elroq: Series production of the new electric SUV begins

The expected Series production of the new Skoda Elroq has officially started at the main plant that the Czech brand has located in the city of Mladá Boleslav, Czech Republic. This model, conceived as the most accessible compact SUV in the electric range of Skoda, is positioned on the market as a very attractive offer. In it, the brand, at the time of its development, has highlighted its competitiveness in price and its excellent performance.

The Skoda Elroq is the second fully electric model from the Czech brand, complementing the already well-known Enyag. Equipped with the MEB platform, designed specifically for electric vehicles by the Volkswagen Group, the Elroq is produced on a shared assembly line that also includes the Enyaq and the Octavia, the latter with internal combustion technology. This arrangement allows the production simultaneous and flexible, adapting to the demands changing automotive market.

The most notable feature is the Elroq 85 version, which offers a maximum autonomy of 581 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle. In addition, it allows a fast charge that goes from 10% to 80% capacity in approximately 25 minutes, depending on battery configuration.

In terms of price, the Elroq is positioned as one of the most competitive electric SUVs in its segment. In markets such as Germany, the most basic versions start at around 33.000 euros before applying possible government incentives. Intermediate options such as the Elroq 60 are around 38.400 euros, while the higher end, such as the dual-motor Elroq 85x, can reach 54.610 euros. These figures allow it to compete with electric models of rival brands, offering an economical option without sacrificing autonomy or equipment.

Since its presentation in October 2024, the Skoda Elroq has generated great interest in the European market.
