The giant Stellantis continues to feed the European and global market with launches that, to a large extent, share the same ingredients: SUV concept and various electrified propulsion systems. The last one to be made public is this second generation of Opel Grandland, a model that, however, will still take a few months to arrive in our country (possibly it will do so at the end of this year or at the beginning of the next.)
Everything about it changes drastically: design, dimensions, engines and even platform. In fact, the new Grandland will be based on the STLA Medium which has already given life to the latest Peugeot 3008 and 5008. Precisely this is key so that, as in the members of the French catalogue, there will be a 100% electric version and several others with a high and low degree of electrification.
Opel Grandland 2025: new in everything
Just by looking at it we appreciate that we are looking at a new car that practically inherits nothing from its predecessor. The design, strongly inspired by that of the Opel Experimental, debuts a grille (faired on the electric) in which the new horizontal LED strip stands out that unites the new batch of headlights with the mythical blitz, already minimalist and backlit. This entire set is commercially called Opel 3D Vizor.
The growth is evident in the profile, and it is that the length increases by no less than 173 mm (up to 4,65 m.) It is also 19 mm higher (1,66 m) and 64 mm wider (1,91 m.) Depending on the taste of each user and the chosen finish, the wheels can be up to 20 inches.
Good lighting is guaranteed, because Opel and its Intelli-Lux Pixel Matrix HD technology It is an absolute reference in the generalist class. So much so that the new Grandland will equip 51.200 elements (25.600 on each side) to distribute high-definition light depending on traffic and many other circumstances. In addition, there will be a projection of new animations at the welcome and farewell.
More digitalized interior
From behind closed doors, a protagonist will be new 16-inch central screen, as well as the digital instrumentation, the new dashboard design that you can see in images and the already typical AGR seats that promise well-being on trips certified by experts in the field.
The 2,78 meter wheelbase allows second row occupants to benefit from 20 mm more legroom. As for the trunk, the capacity in normal configuration remains to be confirmed, but what is official is that the maximum loading volume will be 1.641 liters, as long as we fold down the backrests of the rear seats.
Hybrid and electric engines for the Opel Grandland 2025
It is still early to communicate very specific data regarding the mechanical section but, as we told you, it is more than confirmed that there will be 100% electric options (213, 230 and 320 HP if it copies the 3008 range) with up to 700 km of autonomy and hybrid alternatives, among which is a micro-hybrid Grandland with an Eco label (surely 136 HP) and a PHEV about which at the moment nothing is known.
