The pilot of the Pegasus crashed on Sunday tests positive for drugs. And now that?

Positive drug pilot pegasus helicopter crashed Madrid

As we reported yesterday, an accident took place last Sunday that, fortunately, ended in a scare and several tens of thousands of euros as property damage. Un DGT Pegasus helicopter crashed on the outskirts of Robledo de Chavela, Madrid, specifically at km 2 of the M-512 highway.

Luckily there was nothing to regret other than the material damage to the aircraft and slight injuries to the occupants of the DGT helicopter. However, in the last hours it has been known that the pilot of this Pegasus has tested positive for drugs after carrying out a test after the accident, specifically in cocaine and methamphetamine.

As published The Newspaper of Spain, the first medium that has communicated this information, the pilot tried to flee after being treated in the first instance by the emergency services. This pilot tried to flee to a nearby town -Villanueva de la Cañada, according to the media outlet- to avoid the drug control of the Civil Guard, where he finally had to take the test.

He faces a crime against air safety

"The pilot is known to be a DGT official, on leave from a previous position, while his companion, who was slightly injured in a collision that left the aircraft visibly damaged, is also an official and camera operator for the agency in charge of road control".

It appears that the pilot is credited with a crime against air safety and has already been arrested. It is not for less, then it turns out almost miraculous that a helicopter accident ends with only minor injuries. We recall that, in theory, the aircraft had some kind of failure and the pilot was forced to make a quick emergency landing, which for one reason or another ended with the Pegasus capsized. A real disaster could have happened.
