The 5 Omoda 2025, in both its petrol and electric versions, has arrived on the market to continue being a benchmark among generalist compact SUVs. This new update not only maintains its competitive price, but also incorporates significant improvements in terms of design, technology, dynamics and efficiency. We see them…

Whether you're a fan of combustion engines or prefer a greener option, the new versions of the Omoda 5 have plenty to offer. The petrol model comes with an optimised 145bhp engine (it cuts 40bhp compared to the previous model but reduces fuel consumption and emissions), while the electric version (Omoda 5 EV) offers a range of up to 430km, positioning itself as a good option for urban journeys and even the occasional long trip.

Omoda 5 2025 with renewed exterior design

The design of the Omoda 5 MY2025 includes several details that give it a renewed look, maintaining the style that was already successful in its previous version. Now, on the rear of the car, the name stands out OMODA placed in the centre of the rear lights. In addition, a small aerodynamic appendage has been added to the tailgate that improves fuel efficiency and road stability, as well as two new proximity sensors on the front.

The model comes with 18-inch wheels as standard., fitted with Kumho low-wind resistance tyres (better than the previous Giti tyres.) These features not only improve the car's appearance, but also provide significant benefits in efficiency and handling. In addition, there are new colour options that allow the car to be personalised to the driver's taste, along with roof bars for added functionality when carrying extra luggage.

Technological and quality interior

Omoda 5 MY2025 interior

Inside the Omoda 5 MY2025 we find a cabin that does change noticeably with the previous one and in which a technological design and a good quality of finishes stand out. It is clear that the brand has put effort into giving the driver and passengers an experience similar to the electric version. The car has two 12,3-inch screens (larger than before) located next to each other to manage everything from climate and audio to navigation and vehicle controls. The infotainment system It is intuitive and combines the use of touch and voice commands, which makes it easy to use without distracting the driver's attention, although it does force you to access several submenus to handle certain actions.

The centre console has also been redesigned to make it float, which not only adds a stylish touch to the interior but is also useful. It features a wireless charger of up to 50W with a fan, ideal for keeping your phone at 100% while travelling, and several USB and USB-C connections both in the front and rear. In addition, the boot now features a more versatile floor and two adjustable trays that allow for better organisation of the loading space.

A more efficient engine in the gasoline version

Where the most significant changes of the Omoda 5 MY2025 are noticed is under the hood. The gasoline version comes equipped with a 1.6 liter turbocharged engine which now produces 145 hp and 275 Nm of torque. This represents a reduction in power compared to the previous version, which had 185 hp, but the improvement in efficiency more than compensates. The combined consumption of this engine is 7 litres per 100 km, while CO2 emissions have been reduced to 159 g/km.

This reduction in emissions means that the registration tax has been reduced by 5%, which is great news for drivers looking to save some money when buying a new car. Despite the power reduction, performance remains very competitive. The Omoda 5 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 10,1 seconds and can reach a top speed of 195 km/h.

An interesting electric: Omoda 5 EV
