Nissan updates the Spanish range of the small Micra

Nissan Micra

When the fifth generation Nissan Micra arrived on the market in 2017 , it left everyone speechless. The leap in both quantity and quality experienced by the Japanese city car was exponential compared to its predecessor. The interior and exterior design , the build quality, the active driving aids , and the range of technological and connectivity features placed it among the best in its class.

Barely a year has passed, but due to the implementation of the new Euro 6.2 emissions standard this coming September, Nissan has decided to update its range for the Spanish market. Therefore, as summer draws to a close, we will receive an updated Micra, structured around the following trim levels: Visia, Visia+, Acenta, N-Connecta , and Tekna.

Nissan Micra

The main new feature of the 2018 Nissan Micra is the inclusion, as standard on the Visia trim, of front power windows and the arrival of an infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. For now, there's no word on whether rear power windows will be added , although they will likely arrive with the model's facelift.

The N-Connecta trim level is enhanced with features such as an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a 360-degree camera, rear parking sensors, 17-inch alloy wheels, rear cross-traffic alert , traffic sign recognition, lane-keeping assist, and city braking with pedestrian detection. Full LED headlights and the Bose Personal sound system are now available as options.

Where there will be no significant changes is in the engine lineup. As before, Nissan has decided to retain the 1.0L gasoline engine with 70 hp and the 0.9L IG-T with 90 hp, as well as the 1.5L dCi diesel engine that develops 90 hp. All are paired with a 5-speed manual transmission (no automatic option available). They have been fine-tuned to meet Euro 6.2 emissions standards, although Nissan has not yet confirmed their official fuel consumption and emissions figures.

Finally, the prices that Nissan Spain has suggested for the updated Micra are as follows (without subtracting any promotions and discounts that its sales network may apply each month):
