Toyota has recently confirmed the largest commitment to one of its factories outside its country, the Turkish plant. In fact, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Turkey (TMMT) will soon become Toyota's first European factory to produce both battery and plug-in hybrid vehicles.
Likewise, the Japanese brand has confirmed that the second generation of Toyota CHR it will be manufactured right there, in this Turkish factory located in Sakarya. Without a doubt, it is an important piece of information because the C-HR is one of the main pillars of the automobile company and a high percentage of the global sales volume depends on it.
As Toyota declares, the second generation of the Toyota C-HR will be available with hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions, with a 100% electrified range. We remember that, although in its first generation in Spain it was only sold with conventional hybrid versions, this car was available in other markets without electrification.

In addition to the hybrid version, the new plug-in hybrid Toyota C-HR with locally assembled batteries will further expand Toyota's multi-technology offering towards its target of 100% CO2 reduction across its range of vehicles in Europe by 2035.
Along with the new vehicle production line, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Turkey will build a assembly line for plug-in hybrid batteries with a capacity of 75.000 units per year. It is assumed that this section of battery manufacturing will start operating in December 2023.
We remind you that Toyota is committed to obtaining the full carbon neutrality in Europe by 2040, also having the objective of achieving carbon neutrality in 2023 in all its manufacturing facilities. The Turkish factory is adapting through new efficient technologies to reach these objectives.
We are proud to announce that TMMT will produce the second generation Toyota C-HR. The excellent performance and dedication of our TMMT employees will make this new model a great success, just like its predecessor. It also marks another important milestone with the start of our first battery assembly line in Europe, which is an important step in our European electrification plan.
