The electrification of the automotive sector is enabling the emergence of all kinds of brands . The most talked-about and well-known success story is Tesla Inc., but more are gradually arriving. Lucid is one, MG is another, and the list would be almost endless considering that a new one appears all the time. The latest to appear before us is NamX , and although it has a name that "sounds Chinese," it has a European Union passport…
In case you didn't know, NamX was founded by entrepreneur Faouzi Annajah and designer Thomas de Lussac. Hence its French citizenship and its headquarters in France. Furthermore, to design their first model, they enlisted the services of the renowned designer Pininfarina. This is the NamX HUV , and as you can see in these photos, it takes the form of a mid-size SUV that borders on the coupé sub-segment…
The hydrogen tanks of the NamX HUV are removable and it mounts six…

Interestingly, the NamX HUV is the first car designed from the rear end up . But there's more: it's also the first vehicle Pininfarina has designed using a computer for the entire process. According to the company, it draws inspiration from the Teorema style, which exists only in the virtual world. Furthermore, designer Thomas de Lussac says its sharp lines evoke American muscle cars.
However, the HUV stands out for its distinctive headlights and taillights . The side profile is reminiscent of the Volvo C40 Recharge, although in this case the lines are much more pronounced and have a longer sweep. The rear is also attractive and highly original, especially due to the inserts incorporated into the lower part of the tailgate that provides access to the trunk, and the LED lights in the lower diffuser.
However, the most important aspect of the NamX HUV is its hydrogen-powered electric drivetrain . In this case, six removable tanks are available that can be refueled outside the vehicle. This allows for two versions. One is a rear-wheel-drive version with approximately 300 hp that accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in about 6,5 seconds. The other is an all-wheel-drive (GTH) version with 550 hp and a range of approximately 800 kilometers.
And that's all we can say for now, because NamX hasn't offered much more information . We only know that it could officially debut at the Paris Motor Show, which will be held from October 18th to 23rd, 2022. Finally, they intend to put it on sale before 2026 , but that's still a ways off…
