Michelin presents the new Energy Saver

In the company of more than 100 journalists from all over the peninsula and a dozen bloggers, Actualidadmotor attended the presentation of the fourth generation of the Energy Saver

What a joy, what a fuss…every time companies take us more into account when it comes to publicizing their products. Michelin is making an effort in this direction and last Wednesday it invited us to test the new Energy Saver range.

To do this, he gathered us in one of the Jarama rooms to briefly explain what the day was going to consist of. It consisted of an external road route open to traffic and the technical and commercial presentation at the "La Quinta del Jarama" farm..
As we listened to the route to follow, almost 50 cars were waiting for us outside. The one who chooses first, keeps it...we thought when we entered...so Coming out of the briefing I was like a child in a toy store, not knowing what to choose. Finally I “agreed” with other bloggers to swap cars half way and test different vehicles and tire sizes.

There is not much to say about the test (in the technical aspect, of anecdotes we will post a few, some very funny), since to be able to compare we should try first with one type of tire or another. In addition, often the gain is small, difficult to perceive subjectively (and more so if you are not used to testing tires on a daily basis)… but it is measurable, so it does exist.
Already on the farm, during the commercial presentation, Michelin staff explained to us in broad terms what factors influence wear, grip and friction (translated into fuel savings). According to its own measurements and those of external bodies such as TUV SUD Automotive (already we have the results, we will post them shortly), lhe new Energy Saver range saves an average of 0,2 liters per 100 km, so that over the life of the set of tires we will be saving around €108, thus offsetting a generally higher acquisition cost. Furthermore, if the fuel savings are extrapolated to all vehicles currently fitted with Michelin Green X tyres, the results are staggering. According to the "Michelin Green Meter", during the 40 minutes that the talk lasted, 132.980 liters of fuel were saved in the world; almost nothing, huh?

An entertaining day surrounded by motoring journalists and bloggers, some of whom I already see very often… a sign that we are becoming more and more involved in this world!

Soon I will write a new post talking about the sensations behind the wheel of cars fitted with Energy Saver, anecdotes, etc…

Well, for now you have these others; the TUV does a lot of analysis throughout the year, I only witnessed one of them
