As we told you, the presentation of the Mercedes EQA had to be suspended due to the cancellation of the Swiss appointment. At the time, the star's firm announced that the debut event would take place before 2020 came to an end. The problem is that the pandemic has affected the countries of the world in different ways and, in turn, the component companies. For this and other reasons, it seems that his uncovering is delayed again.
The Mercedes EQA could end up being manufactured in Rastatt
According to various sources, including Autocar, the final development of the Mercedes EQA is having some problems. Apparently, the companies that supply the German firm with the cells for the batteries are having problems meeting the initially planned deadlines. This would have forced the initial planning of the EQA I also had to alter to adapt to the new situation macro-economic.
But it seems that this would not be the only situation that would affect this electric SUV. Mercedes-Benz I had thought at first that I would manufacture it in the technical center that they have located in Hamburg, France. However, by ditching 50 percent of its equity in Smart and moving its production to China, it no longer needs this factory. Therefore, I would be thinking of sell it to Ineos Automotive to manufacture the all-terrain Grenadier there.
If these negotiations materialize, it would have to move the assembly line to another center. The chosen one would be located in Germany, specifically in Rastatt where the EQB will also be set up. Therefore, it would need more time to carry out the adaptation and expansion works. to host the EQA. However, according to this source, the delay would be about six months, with its presentation in the first quarter of 2020.
