The wait to see the new Maserati Grecale has been long and tedious . However, it has finally come to an end with its official unveiling and, consequently, the revelation of its biggest secrets. Throughout these months, the details and information we've learned about it have whetted our appetites. But the problems Stellantis has encountered in bringing it to production and sales have also generated plenty of headlines.
In any case, the trident brand is ready to take orders. Furthermore, at the presentation, they went a step further, revealing secrets about the future Grecale range . Perhaps unexpectedly, the management team shared some technical details about the electric Folgore version. If you liked Maserati's new SUV, pay attention, because it's poised to dominate the market and outshine all its rivals…
The line of the Maserati Grecale is very attractive and daring in equal parts...
As you can see in the photos, the design of the new Maserati Grecale is undeniably attractive . Over the past few months, we've seen countless spy photos and renders that have whetted our appetites. And in the end, almost all of the predictions have been confirmed. This is especially true because its design combines elements seen in the manufacturer's lineup with new and unprecedented features, particularly in the LED headlights, some of which are borrowed from the MC20.
The front end also features another distinctive element in Maserati's design history: the grille . Positioned low and featuring the brand's large logo, it flows into a sporty and muscular bumper. Generous air intakes at the corners and lower section complete the look. The side view, meanwhile, bears a resemblance to the Levante, particularly in the roofline, wheel arches , and the vents behind them.
Finally, there's the rear end. While not revolutionary, it evolves the concept seen on the Levante , especially with its LED taillights and slimmer design. Following current trends, both are connected in the center by a thin chrome strip that adds width to the overall look. Above this is the "Maserati" name in cursive lettering, and on the tailgate, the Grecale logo. Lastly, the bumper's style varies depending on the engine chosen.
Interior of high invoice, habitability and four screens...!

While the exterior design of the Maserati Grecale has surprised (and not so much) in equal measure, the interior is a different story. And not in a bad way, but quite the opposite, in fact, due to the quality and technological sophistication it exudes . The clean, horizontal lines of the dashboard are perfect for accommodating the various screens. The sporty steering wheel with its Alfa-style push-button start and the configurable digital instrument cluster are particularly striking.
A traditional analog clock, voice-controlled, crowns the dashboard . Below it are the climate control air vents, which extend their design to the one next to the passenger door. One step lower is a 12,3-inch central touchscreen (the largest in a Maserati), and slightly below that is another 8,8-inch screen. This one is dedicated to climate control and other settings.
As an added bonus, though not visible, the rear passengers also have another monitor. In terms of connectivity, the Grecale debuts the Maserati Intelligent Assistant (MIA) multimedia system combined with Maserati Connect . The number of physical controls is reduced to a minimum, while still allowing simultaneous connection of two smartphones via Bluetooth. All of this is complemented by a new Sonus faber 3D immersive sound system …
Finally, Maserati announced the Grecale's trunk capacity . According to them, it ranges from 535 to 570 liters depending on the chosen engine version. Regarding quality, although we can't yet touch it, the use of premium materials such as wood, leather, and high-quality carbon fiber is striking . Furthermore, the LED ambient lighting adds a sporty and sophisticated touch to the overall design.
Known and very powerful mechanical offer that inherits, in part, from the MC20...

The Grecale doesn't aspire to be solely focused on design, so its engine range lives up to expectations. In case you weren't expecting it, it boasts two high-performance engines under the hood . Thanks to its foundation in a modified version of the Giorgio platform used in the Giulia and Stelvio, it features the Vehicle Dynamic Control Module (VDCM) and driving modes : Comfort, GT, Sport, Corsa (for the Trofeo version), and Off-Road.
As a curious fact, the Grecale reaches a total length of 4,846 meters, a width of 2,163 meters, and a height of 1,67 meters. The wheelbase is 2,901 meters, with a rear track width of 1,948 meters . Furthermore, Maserati has indicated that the Trofeo version is wider. The brand's team hasn't provided this information, but it's likely to be a few millimeters or perhaps even centimeters wider.
Grecale mechanical summary table…
This table shows at a glance how the Grecale range is structured. In all cases, the transmission is an 8-speed automatic that sends power to the ground through all four wheels.

We already know some technical data of the Folgore version of the new Maserati Grecale
Taking advantage of the debut of the "conventional" versions of the Grecale, Maserati has released details of the electric Folgore version . The information is limited, but sufficient to give us an idea of what's to come. Above all, it will be equipped with a lithium-ion battery with an energy capacity of 105 kWh . It will also feature 400-volt charging technology, which will allow for quick charging.
When will the Grecale hit the market?

If everything goes according to plan, the Maserati Grecale will make its commercial debut in the second half of 2022. This applies to the combustion engine versions, but not to the electric Folgore. In that case, we should expect it in about a year: that is, in 2023. We don't yet know its official prices , but we won't have to wait long to find them out, both for Spain and for all the markets where it will be available. Patience.
