It was public that Grupo Volkswagen he was looking for a good location to build his battery factory, and apparently the plant already has a site. The gigafactory will be built in Sagunto, in the province of Valencia, and its repercussion for the area will be very important, since a creation of close to 3.500 jobs is expected when it reaches full capacity.
This battery factory will be the third of the German giant on European soil, but the manufacturer's project involves having a total of six in the year 2030. And you already know that Volkswagen's roadmap clearly goes through the electrification of practically all its product offerings.

It will be an incentive for Ford to bring its electric cars to Almussafes
You also have to consider that A large part of the battery production will be exported to other plants of the Volkswagen Group in Europe, which is why it is located so close to the port of Sagunto. But all this is not the only positive thing, as it will help Ford maintain its Almussafes plant, which is located just 60 kilometers away.
In case you don't know, Ford and Volkswagen have a collaboration agreement consisting in that the American manufacturer will produce two electric vehicles on the MEB platform of the Germans. In this way, there are more possibilities that Ford brings to Almussafes the manufacture of that pair of models, since the transport of the batteries would be much simpler and cheaper.
Similarly, the Ladaben plant (Navarra) has more possibilities of assuming the production of other electric models in the not too distant future.
In any case, we must remain calm because Volkswagen has not officially confirmed the creation of this gigafactory in Sagunto, although it seems more than certain that will be confirmed by the German manufacturer in the coming days or weeks.
