Lotus Final Edition: The Elise, Exige and Evora deck themselves out to say goodbye

Thanks to Geely, the folks at Lotus are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel . The money they needed to develop new models is finally arriving, and the results are proving very popular with both the public and critics. The Evija is the first of a long list of releases expected in the coming years . Proof that their plans are on track is that they've just unveiled the swan song for their lineup: the Lotus Final Edition.

The special Lotus Final Edition trim will be applied to all three models in their current lineup. The Elise, Exige, and Evora have been on the market for a long time and are in dire need of a replacement. We learned about this transition a few days ago when the team at Hethel announced they were finalizing the development of three new models . Now it's time to say goodbye to the current models and find out what's changing.

The Lotus Final Edition series arrives with more power and less weight

First up is the Elise Sport 240 Final Edition . It now boasts 240 hp and 244 Nm of maximum torque from its turbocharged 1.8-liter engine. New features include lighter 10-spoke alloy wheels and several carbon fiber body panels. Next is the Elise Cup 250 Final Edition , which debuts aerodynamic enhancements, Bilstein dampers, and adjustable anti-roll bars.

Next in the lineup, we find the Exige in Sport 390, Sport 420, and Cup 430 versions . All feature exclusive equipment, wheel designs, paint options, and decals. They also include a commemorative plaque indicating they are the last units of this iconic model. Powering them is the tried-and-tested 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 engine, originally developed by Toyota and paired with a manual transmission.

Finally, there's the Lotus Evora Final Edition . Unlike its siblings in the range, we still don't officially know what changes it will receive. The Hethel-based company has only indicated that it's in its final year of production and that we'll soon find out what's changed. It's expected that we'll see its replacement before the end of 2021, and therefore, before it leaves the market, it will receive its farewell in the form of a final edition.

The Lotus Final Edition has already gone on sale in several markets. The first to receive them will be the UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Switzerland. The rest of the Eurozone countries will have to wait a couple more weeks. For now, they haven't announced how many units of each model they will produce, although we're sure it won't be many. If you want one, act fast because they won't be available for long.
