Kia is one of the manufacturers that has evolved and grown the most in recent years. The proof of all its evolution is in how its European range has come to equal, if not surpass, its rivals from Peugeot or Volkswagen. But even so, they still believe that there is room to continue growing and for this they have launched an ambitious plan. And to fulfill it, they will spare no effort, especially in regard to the electrification of its range…

A few days ago we learned that Kia had expanded the number of electric vehicles that it would launch on the market for the year 2027. Now there will be 14 members and, among them, there will be no shortage of two new pick up´s of which until now we had no knowledge. But, coincidences of life, thanks to a blog of followers of the brand, some images have come to light in which it seems that these models have already gone out to carry out test tests. Take note…

The first thing to say is that the test mules are loaded with camouflage. Therefore, being able to get some data from its design or aesthetics is at least impossible. However, in the heat of these images, a couple of curiosities that have caught our attention. The first has to do with the CodenameIn theory, they would have already hit the South Korean brand. East would be "TK" And we don't know what it means...

The second data that could interest us has to do with the platform that these Kia pick up's would use. Apparently there are two options on the table and both seem very valid. According to these sources, the first base would be of the electric type, so it could be the same one used by the EV9. The second option, also possible because it is aimed at emerging markets, would be a platform compatible with thermal ICE and electric engines.

Therefore, we could be facing two pick ups with different approaches and target markets. One could reach Europe, with an electric platform, and another be destined for emerging markets that are less demanding with anti-pollution measures. In addition, we cannot rule out another fact. Hyundai has been marketing the pick-up Santa Cruz and this one will need a replacement to match when the current one retires...
