Honda is on fire, and the proof is in the official presentation of the new Civic e:HEV . Just hours ago, we didn't know what their future plans were for Europe, but that has changed radically. As you know, they've been working on electrifying their range for years , but above all, they've been characterized by their deliberate approach. And they're not going to lose that approach, although with the official announcement they've made, many might think they're rushing things.
If you've been paying attention, you'll have noticed Honda's plans for Europe. Yes, you read that right: they'll be launching three new electrified vehicles throughout 2023. To announce this, they've released a series of teasers illustrating what the models they're working on might look like. And be warned, there's one we showed you a while back that everyone (including us) mistook for the American HR-V. Keep an eye out…
In addition to the Civic e:HEV, Honda will bring to Europe the electric B-SUV e:Ny1, a C-SUV Hybrid and the new CR-V…
In addition to the recently unveiled Civic e:HEV, three SUVs are coming . Yes, you read that right, although each will have a different purpose. To make everything perfectly clear and avoid any confusion, we're going to share a paragraph from the official press release published by the Japanese firm…
Honda has also announced the expansion of its electrified product range in 2023 , creating its broadest European lineup in years. New additions include a fully electric B-segment SUV , unveiled as the e:Ny1 concept , a full hybrid C-segment SUV , and the all-new CR-V , which will be available, for the first time in Europe, with both a full hybrid and a plug-in hybrid powertrain.
Therefore, given that we already know what the e:Ny1 prototype is, it's a matter of narrowing down the possibilities to determine which vehicle the teaser we presented a few weeks ago belongs to . The answer is twofold: it could be the full hybrid C-SUV or the new CR-V. However, we have a hunch it's more likely the former than the latter. The reason lies in the evolution of its design and a comparison with spy photos of the CR-V.
However, the launch of three new electrified vehicles is just the beginning. Honda will include charging solutions and energy supply services to support zero-emission technologies. All of this is to meet their commitment to carbon neutrality by 2050. This will mean they will stop selling vehicles with internal combustion engines by 2040. Meanwhile, 2022 and 2023 will be packed with new developments … Time to enjoy them…
