The atypical 2020 F1 calendar , modified by the pandemic, continues. The Belgian Grand Prix will take place after a weekend break and following the Spanish Grand Prix, however strange that may seem. And above all, without the traditional Formula 1 summer break, as the usual summer hiatus was cancelled to compress the calendar due to the delay.
The long Spa-Francorchamps circuit will once again see the Formula 1 cars racing. One of the longest laps, at 7,004 km per lap, with 44 laps making up the total race distance of 308.176 km. A track where, in many sections, drivers go flat out, and featuring the legendary Eau Rouge, with its steep downhill section, uphill section, and a tight corner where drivers take very high speeds without slowing down, and where many accidents have occurred throughout history.

Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes in general (and we'll see if Red Bull, with a significantly reduced wing, can too) are here to put on another strong performance. The less powerful engines will struggle considerably, like those of Ferrari and Renault. We've already seen in previous editions that Red Bull, despite appearances, performed very well in Monza, Italy, and here, even with an extremely flat wing.
Furthermore, given the track's length , lap times in qualifying will likely show more significant differences. Therefore, we can expect qualifying to be less extremely close than at other circuits, with a few tenths of a second separating the field.
