Ford Ranger: Two new special versions reach the European range

The Ford Ranger is the most sought-after pickup truck by customers in Europe and much of the world. Proof of its commercial success can be seen in the care and attention given to it by the American automaker. Nor can we overlook the numerous special editions they release to delight their loyal customers. However, the current generation is just a couple of years away from receiving a well-deserved replacement, and until the time comes to say goodbye, here are two more options.

Ford's European division has created two new versions of the Ranger : the Stormtrak and the Wolftrak . These models showcase two very different personalities for this pickup truck. To give you an idea, the Stormtrak is a premium version of the Ranger. Meanwhile, the Wolftrak is designed for those who work outdoors and enjoy pure off-roading without compromising comfort and safety. Let us introduce them to you…

The Ford Ranger changes identity with the Stormtrak and Wolftrak

We'll start by revealing the secrets of the Ford Ranger Stormtrak . This edition is based on the Wildtrak series and features a Rapid Red paint finish. It also includes full LED headlights, additional underbody protection, unique trim and decals, and a black rear bumper. Inside, you'll find sporty leather seats embroidered with Stormtrak logos and side bolsters upholstered in technical fabric.

To move, the Stormtrak relies on a powerful diesel engine. To be precise, its engineers opted for the 2.0-liter EcoBlue twin-turbo engine . It produces 156 kW ( 212 hp ) and 500 Nm of torque. Power is managed by a 10-speed automatic transmission. Furthermore, it comes standard with an effective all-wheel-drive system with selectable driving modes.

Secondly, we must discuss the Ford Ranger Wolftrak . This version is based on the XLT series and offers off-road styling enhancements. Among the elements that distinguish it from other versions are the tubular roll bar in the cargo bed and the Conquer Grey paint finish. We also can't overlook the matte black grille, the underbody protection, and the 17-inch alloy wheels painted black.

The Wolftrak uses the turbocharged version of the 2.0 EcoBlue engine . It delivers 170 hp and is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. A 10-speed automatic is available as an option. Both versions come standard with all-wheel drive, an electronically locking rear differential, and all-terrain tires. Furthermore, it offers a payload of 1 tonne and a maximum towing capacity of 3.5 tonnes.
