Engine flywheel, concept and operation

One of the constituent parts of a car and that is unknown by many, despite its vital importance, is the Flywheel, responsible for accumulating inertia and regularize the movement of the motor throughout its operation.

It basically consists of a quite heavy wheel, usually cast iron or steel, which is placed at the end of the crankshaft closest to gearbox, mounted using self-braking screws that are offset to avoid errors in placement.

The steering wheel has Incoming, the most important part of the set, which functions as a kind of clutch support, which supposes as a kind of control of the gearbox, making it work or not according to its actuation.

The steering wheel has a rim, where references are usually recorded that are verified by the mechanic at the time of the timing adjustment and on power up.

In all its periphery, to be able to engage the pinion of the electric motor starter (also known as "automatic") this piece carries a fully toothed ring.

The next change of distribution I will pay attention to you and I will disassemble the gearbox to verify the adjustment. Thanks guys.

Hello, I recently changed the clutch, the pedal was very short so I asked the mechanic to leave it a little longer, the problem I have now is that the gearbox trembles when I release the clutch pedal.
