The Opel Experimental little by little is undressing before its debut

Opel Experimental Concept IAA Munich

If Stellantis' plans go well, they will make Opel their first all-electric brand in Europe . For their engineers, advancing the technology that will power their future models is a priority, as it will ultimately be shared with their sister brands within the group. Taking advantage of this mass electrification, they have given the brand a fresh new look with innovations such as their redesigned logo . In fact, Opel's reinvention is already a reality.

Next September we'll find out what the future holds for the Rüsselsheim-based automaker. If you're a regular reader, you'll remember that we recently told you the Opel Experimental Concept would soon debut . And although its debut won't take place until the next IAA Mobility Show in Munich, they're already building anticipation with a series of mysterious teasers . In this case, five images have arrived that, rather than clarifying things, only confuse us a bit more…

For now we do not know what kind of car the Opel Experimental Concept is…

If we take a look at the official press release they published, we can read the following message…

"The German brand is now offering a tantalizing preview of the design study by releasing the first images of the vehicle. The photographs reveal the extreme precision and meticulous attention to detail of the Opel Experimental , which will showcase the future of the Opel brand with its most technical and extreme interpretation of the Bold and Pure design philosophy ."

But they don't actually say what kind of model it is. We know for sure it will be fully electric and futuristic, but not, for example, if it's a compact car, a sedan, or an SUV . However, it doesn't take a genius to figure out it will be either an SUV or a crossover, as that's the type of vehicle that dominates sales charts. Furthermore, the CEO of Opel points out that…

"The Opel Experimental marks the beginning of a new chapter for our brand . It was designed to provide a tangible glimpse into where the Opel brand is headed. We'll be revealing more details soon, so stay tuned."

Only that it redefines the new front of future electric Opel…

What's clear is that the Experimental Concept redefines the front end of the new Opel models . The latest Astra and Corsa models already showcase the brand's latest design philosophy, but with the Experimental Concept, they'll take it a step further. One of the most striking features is the enhanced version of the Opel Compass, with the illuminated "Blitz" logo in the center of the front grille. This is how they're shaping a new version of the Vizor design language, but it's not the only innovation.

The new illuminated logo is flanked by the now-familiar horizontal wing-shaped headlights. There's also a new illuminated central crease that bisects the Compass . Among the images, one appears to show part of the rear, featuring a red-tinted taillight that, according to the company, "suggests the Compass's presence on the rear of the Opel Experimental." All of this is aimed at achieving the best possible aerodynamics in their models…

Finally, we can't overlook the teaser that seems to reveal the design of the alloy wheels . They're futuristic and three-dimensional, combining three colors: chrome, black, and yellow. As a bonus, there's a gift in the last part of the press release…

" The futuristic cues continue inside with the contoured seat structure that suggests a sustainable and resource-conservative approach to the ergonomic seating that is typical of Opel vehicles."

However, we're getting closer to seeing it, but to be honest, Opel is really blowing our minds... Don't you think?
