New Mini Aceman, an electric crossover for the most flirtatious

Mini is a far cry from what it was when the BMW Group rescued it from oblivion at the beginning of the new millennium to give it a second life. Back then, the only three-door neo-retro model that paid homage to the original Mini remained the sole option in the lineup for years. Today, among the different variants and mechanical versions available, there are more than a dozen models associated with the Bavarian consortium. And now, one more will join them: the new Mini Aceman.

While this Aceman inherits most of the features and technology introduced by the new generation of models recently launched by the British-German brand, including the Countryman , it arrives to position itself precisely in an intermediate segment between the smallest Mini and the flagship SUV. Furthermore, its crossover styling perfectly distinguishes it from the "family" Clubman.

Mini Aceman: conceived as 100% electric

Another of its key features, perhaps the most important in the eyes of its customers, is that it will only be available in electric versions … at least for now. The range will consist of two: an Aceman E with 184 hp and 290 Nm of torque, and an Aceman SE with sportier touches, offering 218 hp and 330 Nm of torque. The former promises acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 7,9 seconds (eight-tenths of a second slower than the SE) and a top speed of 160 km/h (10 km/h less than the more powerful model).

However, the two models won't share exactly the same battery . The S will be equipped with a 42,5 kWh battery for a homologated range of 310 km, while the SE will increase the capacity to 54,2 kWh with the aim of providing an official range of 406 km.

As for charging, both will accept up to 11 kW of AC power and 75 or 95 kW of DC power , depending on the battery. In any case, charging from 10% to 80% should take around half an hour without any problems.

Personalization galore

Depending on individual preferences, the model can be customized with four different trim levels: Essential, Classic, Favoured, and JCW . Even the base model includes standard features such as a 240mm diameter circular OLED display, the Mini Experience driving mode selector with up to eight different styles, and black sport seats upholstered in multi-tone fabric with a colored textile insert on the dashboard, among other things. However, the chosen trim level will determine the character of each vehicle, offering more dynamic or more elegant details and wheels ranging from 17 to 19 inches.
