Recent history shows that SUVs are the biggest buying trend the market has seen in years. Much of this commercial explosion is due to the path taken by Nissan in its SUV family. The Nissan Juke It is the smallest model of the firm, just below its older brothers, Nissan Qashqai y Nissan X-Trail. All of them have been successful sales.
We have tested this car:

Given the high sales produced, Nissan realizes the potential market for SUVs, so in a second dare launches the first generation Juke in 2010, being presented a year earlier as a prototype at the Geneva Motor Show.
After its resounding success, thanks in part to its eccentric design, the Juke remained virtually unchanged for the next nine years. Finally, in 2019, the second iteration comes to light. It is presented as a better model in every way, paying special attention to design, quality and equipment. An update is introduced at the beginning of 2024 that hardly shows any exterior changes, but does show considerable interior and mechanical modifications.
Technical characteristics Nissan Juke
Nissan is part of the conglomerate Nissan-Renault. A global alliance that enables the shared development of platforms and engines. In this case the Nissan Juke has a lot to do with the Renault Captur and Renault Clio. The three share a structure, the so-called CMF-B platform. Thanks to it, the Japanese can enjoy more modern technologies and more efficient propulsion systems.
In terms of dimensions, we are talking about a model perfectly located in the segment of utility SUVs. reaches a height of 4,21 meters long, 1,8 meters wide and 1,59 meters high. To these external measures must be added a wheelbase of 2,64 meters. Wheelbase that allows an approved passenger compartment for a maximum of five passengers.
The occupants of the rear row enjoy a correct space, although the presence of a high transmission tunnel and a low level for the shoulders causes that three occupants travel with some discomfort. As far as trunk volume is concerned, the minimum approved capacity is 422 litres, 354 liters for the Juke Hybrid, expandable to 1.237 liters when the second row of seats is folded down in a 60:40 ratio.
Mechanical range and gearboxes of the Nissan Juke
Despite the recent appearance of the new Nissan Juke, the Japanese SUV does not pose any electrified mechanical variant until mid-2022. Until that date, only one mechanical option is available, gasoline. With this strategy, the Juke bids farewell to the diesel versions, which are replaced by high-efficiency hybrid units capable of homologating the DGT ECO label.
The only engine available is the 1.0 DIG-T. A 999-cubic-centimeter turbocharged three-cylinder small-block that always develops 117 horsepower at 5.250 rpm and 200 Nm of torque between 1.750 and 3.750 rpm. It has discreet features. Top speed of 180 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 11,1 seconds.
The most recent novelty is that of the Juke Hybrid, which mounts a drive scheme inherited from the Renault Captur E-TECH hybrid. It consists of a 1.6-liter gasoline engine that is accompanied by two electric motors and a small battery of 1,2 kWh gross capacity that allows it to offer an electric range of approximately five kilometers, being able to carry out 80% of urban journeys in electric mode. The total power of the set is 143 horses managed by an automatic gearbox.
Equipment of the Nissan Juke
One of the most radical changes of the second edition lies in the passenger compartment. The considerable improvement is mainly noticeable in the materials chosen by Nissan.. Many surfaces have a nice soft touch that increases the sense of perceived quality, unlike the previous model where most of the interior was made of cold-touch hard plastic.
As usual, the range of the Nissan Juke is staggered in different trim levels: Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna, N-Design. The aesthetic differences between them lie in slight aspects such as the design and size of the wheels or the roof in contrasting paint. The rest of the design is not altered, the finishes being very similar to each other.
As far as equipment is concerned, obviously the Juke has increased its systems load, despite this does not offer the same level of technology as some of its rivals. It is worth highlighting elements such as LED headlights, keyless access and start, dual-zone climate control, keyless opening and start, rear camera, connectivity for mobile devices, digital instrument panel, multimedia system with a panel of up to 12,3 inches, and a wide catalog of assistants and driving aids.

The Nissan Juke according to Euro NCAP
When it comes to safety, the new generation of the Nissan Juke considerably improves the data obtained by its predecessor. In 2019 Euro NCAP tested the safety of the small SUV, certifying it as a five-star model. The results showed a rating of 94 out of 100 in protection of adult passengers, 85 out of 100 in protection of child passengers, 81 out of 100 in pedestrian safety and 73 out of 100 in the operation of driving assistants. These assessments remain valid in the updated 2024 version as there has been no change in the structure of the vehicle.
The Nissan Juke of Km 0 and second hand
The first generation of the Nissan Juke was one of the best-selling models of the brand in Spain. Thanks to this, the used and kilometer zero market has a very large stock where it is easy to find units with different configurations and prices. The average depreciation of the Juke is around 30 percent, located in the middle part of the segment.
The cheapest units are available in the second-hand channel with a price of around 5.000 euros for models between 2010 and 2012 and more than 200.000 accumulated kilometers. Given the recent appearance of the second generation, the Km 0 market offers a mix of new and old models. Second iteration prices are slightly discounted from list prices.
Rivals of the Nissan Juke
