La Servicio Marítimo Guardia Civil has recently received an update to its vehicle fleet. Specifically, the worthy one has just added nothing less than 118 units of an electric vehicle, which may be somewhat surprising to many, although it can make a lot of sense depending on the tasks for which they are intended.
Be that as it may, those 118 electric cars correspond to the Renault Megane E-Tech 100% electric. The delivery of the vehicles took place at the Mobile Material Service of the Civil Guard located on Príncipe de Vergara Street in Madrid. Sébastien Guigues, General Director of Renault and Alpine in Spain and Portugal, has delivered the vehicles.
As we have learned, this fleet of 118 100% Electric Renault Megane E-Tech is destined different commands of the body, used mainly for patrolling and surveillance. All units have a techno finish and the electric motor 220 HP with 60 kWh battery, with an approved range of 450 kilometers and a fast charging power of 130 kW. They will travel an approximate average of 200 kilometers per day, so they have more than enough autonomy.
Comment the french brand that this fleet of electric vehicles will avoid local emissions of more than 3 tons of CO2 per day, comparing with a Megane TCe 140 gasoline horsepower. Logically, also without noise pollution, since these electric cars hardly make any noise.
On the other hand, it is always interesting to look back and realize that the Renault Megane has been present in all their generations with the Civil Guard, with a relationship that has now been almost 25 years old. The first four generations of the compact model have worn the Civil Guard signs.
Now, through the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, financed with European funds and which is within the Energy Transition Plan in the General Administration of the State, the Corps incorporates these 118 units of the electric vehicle.
