General Motors wants to dominate the Chinese market, and its plans are highly ambitious . They are confident that every single brand they sell in the Asian giant will be fully electric within the next few years. And that's not all they aspire to; they also want customers to continue embracing their Ultium technology as they do today . To achieve this, they will launch a product offensive that their rivals are not expecting.
As you know, Buick is one of the most successful foreign premium brands in China . It has been selling its cars for years, and local customers know that its combination of quality, prestige, and technology is top-notch. So, after the launch of the E5 Electric, the three-shield brand is back with a model that is sure to appeal to the more "racing" types. It's the new Buick Electra E4, a BEV SUV with a distinctly coupe-like design.
The line of the new Buick Electra E4 follows the essence of the E5 but with a strong Coupé accent…

Looking back, you might recall that one of Buick's latest offerings for China was the E5 SUV. Shortly after, we learned they would be expanding the Electra family to unprecedented levels, and the new Electra E4 is proof of that. As you can see, it's a dynamically styled SUV that draws heavily on the aesthetics of the aforementioned E5 . Like the E5, it's also electric, but unlike the E5, its body is more dynamic, aiming for a coupe-like look.
From the front, the Electra E4 features sharply styled full LED headlights that extend almost to the wheel arches. There's no grille; instead, the three-shield logo of the American brand sits atop the front. The bumper, however, is very sporty with three air intakes: a trapezoidal central intake and a larger one, finished at the bottom with a faux skid plate. The side view reveals the sharply sloping roofline and attractive alloy wheels.
To emphasize its dynamism, a chrome strip runs along the upper part of the windows , contrasting with the one at the bottom of the doors, which in turn connects with the strip that divides the grille into three sections. At the rear, it stands out with its sharply angled, full LED taillights with outer "fangs" connected in the center by an LED strip, as well as a moderately sized rear window . The bumper is simple and integrates the black diffuser at the bottom…
How is your technique? If GM launched it in Europe, could it succeed?

As we mentioned earlier, the new Buick Electra E4 is brought to life by GM's Ultium technology . This is evident not only in its sophisticated and technologically advanced electric powertrain, but also in the large central display that combines the configurable digital instrument cluster and the central touchscreen . It boasts a massive 30 inches, 6K resolution, and incorporates the powerful Snapdragon 8155 chip.
With a 2,95-meter wheelbase, it will offer generous interior space as well as high-capacity batteries… The problem is that neither Buick nor General Motors have announced the main specifications of the electric powertrain. They do offer a few hints about the body's aerodynamics, mentioning the double rear spoiler and the fact that the door handles are concealed within the bodywork . Therefore, we'll have to wait a while longer to find out the full details…
Given this, a question arises : Would GM dare to launch it in Europe? For now, it's known that the new Buick model family was created by and for China, but with these designs, quality, and technologies, they could very well be popular in Europe. Of course, if Cadillac couldn't compete with the Bavarian premium brands back in the day, perhaps the three-shield brand doesn't stand a chance, since only a handful of enthusiasts know about it here… Although, I must say, the E4 is good…
Don't you think...?
