After the presentation of the Brabus 700, a modification of the Mercedes AMG E63 S with 700 CV, the German coach has unveiled another vehicle: the new Brabus 900. An off-road beast that also gets its name from the final power that the series model receives, after being boosted by its engineers.

According to those responsible, the Brabus 900 is the world's most powerful V12-powered SUV thanks to its 900 hp and an impressive torque figure of 1.500 Nm, it is on a par with many trucks. The 12-cylinder engine, which in the production model has a displacement of 6.0 liters, has been extensively retouched in such a way that now cubes 6.3 liters. Some really impressive data, although if you continue reading you will see that they have a trick.

When such high performance is reached, each of the car's components is subjected to stress that is difficult to bear. This is precisely what happens to the gearbox of the Mercedes AMG G65 when it becomes the Brabus 900. The force it has to withstand is such that if it received the 1.500 Nm of maximum torque it would burst. For this reason, have limited this value to 1.200 Nm.

Brabus 900: sports performance in an off-roader

Despite this reduction, the Brabus 900 is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3,9 seconds, that is, 1,4 seconds faster than regular G65. On top speed is electronically limited to 270 km/h, a figure well below the capabilities of the engine. Something that is due to the aerodynamic characteristics of its off-road type bodywork, which would not allow sufficiently stable behavior at much higher speeds.

Only 10 units of the Mercedes AMG G65 will end up transformed into a Brabus 900 and each of them will have a total price of 666.000 euros. All of them will be equipped as standard with the body kit composed mainly of carbon fiber that you can see in the photos, the inch wheels 23 in silver or black and Yokohama high performance tires.

Inside, they have included a specific leather upholstery with the logo of the Brabus house on both the front and rear seats. The latter also have a removable 4,3-inch touch screen modified by Brabus, coasters with cooling or heating function of drinks and a safety drawer with electric opening. The first of the 10 units has been presented at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, which will be open from September 14 to 24.
