For some time now, there has been speculation that Alfa Romeo is working on a large SUV . This is more than just a rumor; it's a reality that, in one way or another, was expected. In fact, the company's management team announced some time ago that it would return to the US market with a series of models in this segment. However, it wasn't until now that Alfa Romeo's CEO, Jean-Philippe Imparato, officially confirmed it.
Moreover, there was recent talk that the Stelvio's larger sibling might be called the Grand Stelvio . However, despite the rumors, it seems unlikely that this E-segment SUV will be named that, and there are many reasons for this. Perhaps the most compelling is that the current Stelvio hasn't taken off in the market , and although it will be replaced in 2026, it could change its name. The aim: to differentiate a less successful model from the new ones.
Whatever the case, this electric Alfa Romeo E-SUV will be a major rival to the new-generation BMW iX, Lotus Eletre, and Porsche Cayenne. However, compared to its competitors, it will boast a distinctive design that makes it lower and more aerodynamic, as well as sportier .
