Whatever the reason, the Volkswagen T-Roc has dethroned the all-powerful Golf as the brand's best-selling model in Europe. With these prices, the model starts well above the outgoing T-Roc and also above more affordable alternatives in the segment. In fact, the difference compared to some more budget-conscious rivals can exceed €12.000 with the same engine, fuel type, and electrification features.
Engines, consumption and ECO label…
The initial offering consists of the 1.5 eTSI mild hybrid gasoline engine in two power levels: 116 and 150 hp, both paired with a 7-speed DSG transmission. The 116 hp version achieves 5,5 l/100 km (WLTP), a top speed of 196 km/h, and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 10,6 seconds; the 150 hp version boasts 5,6 l/100 km, a top speed of 212 km/h, and a 0-100 km/h time of 8,9 seconds.
Both variants qualify for the ECO label thanks to the 48V electrical system and the energy recuperation system, which provides smoother start-stop operation. The brand has also confirmed the arrival of two HEV (full hybrid) versions with 136 and 170 hp at a later stage, along with the potential availability of 4Motion all-wheel drive in higher trim levels.

Manufactured in Palmela, Portugal , the T-Roc is geared towards the European market.
