Toyota has announced a new limited edition of its sports coupe GR86Called «Yuzu Edition», which takes the Premium version of the current model as its starting point to incorporate a series of aesthetic and technical elements that evoke Scion-era enthusiasts. This launch is more than just a color change: it is a direct nod to the 1.0 Scion FR-S Release Series 2015, a model remembered by many for its distinctive yellow hue.
This special edition stands out mainly for its exclusive Yuzu Yellow color, a color choice that not only offers a striking aesthetic, but also revives the spirit of the compact sports cars of a decade ago. In that sense, the GR86 Yuzu Edition does not bring a power upgrade, but adds components that enhance the driving experience. Under the hood is the familiar 2.4-liter naturally aspirated boxer engine, with a power output of 228 horses and a maximum torque of 249 Nm, which is associated with a six-speed manual transmission or optionally to an automatic transmission with the same number of ratios.

The weight of the set remains contained, with a value close to 1.270 kg Thanks to the use of aluminum alloys in elements such as the hood, roof, and front fenders, as well as a structure assembled with special adhesives that reduce mass without compromising rigidity. This lightness, combined with the naturally aspirated engine's linear response, remains one of the keys to the GR86's appeal as an accessible sports car.

Toyota has not made public the prices for this edition., but they're expected to be available soon, with a view to arriving at dealerships next fall.
