One more year, suzuki iberian has held a new edition of Liters x KilogramsA charitable initiative that transforms fuel savings into real help for families in need. In this competition, the fuel savings compared to the official figures translate directly into... kilos of food donated to the Madrid Food Bank.
In this eleventh edition, they have managed to bring together 3.009 kilos of basic foodstuffswhich will be delivered in the coming days for distribution among vulnerable families. With this figure, the Liters per Kilograms ratio now reaches nearly 42 tons of food donated throughout its eleven editions.

The challenge is simple, but demanding: teams made up of two motoring journalists have to complete a route of 57,4 kilometers with open traffic, applying efficient driving techniques to minimize the homologated consumption in the mixed cycle.
This year, we have competed with the Suzuki SwiftWe had to squeeze (in terms of efficiency) its micro-hybrid three-cylinder engine to reduce the 4,4 l/100 km homologated figure of the manual version.
Precision behind the wheel, very careful use of the accelerator, and minimal braking were key to achieving a average consumption of only 3,1 l/100 km (29,5% less than the homologated figure). This allowed myself, Diego Ávila, and our colleague Víctor Delgado, from Motor Journalism, to achieve victory.
Meanwhile, another group was competing with the Suzuki Vitara AllGripEquipped with an efficient four-cylinder engine and mild hybrid technology. In their case, the best team recorded a consumption of just 4,1 l/100 km, which represents a reduction of 24,1% compared to the official consumption (it is homologated at 5,4 l/100 km).

With initiatives like Liters x Kilos, Suzuki Motor Ibérica continues to contribute to the work of the Madrid Food Bank after a decade. In 2024 alone, the organization distributed nearly 17.000 tons of food through some 540 charities. helping more than 137.000 people in a situation of poverty or at risk of social exclusion.
