There are still those who think so, but there is no such thing as a just war . Throughout human history, we have seen countless conflicts that, whatever their justification, have always affected the most vulnerable. The civilian population is often a pawn that ruthless leaders use to further their own agendas. The Russian invasion of Ukraine is the latest example, but sadly, it will not be the end of this nightmare…
After individuals, businesses are the most affected. Without them, there is no economic activity and therefore no wealth, regardless of who starts the war. In this case, witnessing Russia's blatant invasion of Ukraine, organizations worldwide are reacting by turning their backs on Putin and his government. Ford is one of those in the automotive sector that has said "enough is enough ." It is severing ties with the Russians and, until further notice, is leaving the country.
Ford's presence in Russia is now reduced to the manufacture of commercial vans...

To announce the temporary, or permanent, cessation of its activity in Russia, the Blue Oval has published a press release … In it we can read the following message…
“As part of the global community, Ford is deeply concerned about the invasion of Ukraine and the resulting threats to peace and stability. The situation has compelled us to reassess our operations in Russia. In recent years, Ford has significantly reduced its Russian operations , which now focus exclusively on manufacturing commercial vans and Russian sales through a minority stake in the Sollers Ford joint venture . Given the situation, we are informing our partners today that we will suspend our operations in Russia, effective immediately, until further notice.”
But these statements go even further …
"While we don't have significant operations in Ukraine, we have a strong contingent of Ukrainian citizens working at Ford around the world and we will continue to support them during this time."
" Ford Fund is also making a $100,000 donation to the Global Giving Ukraine Relief Fund for humanitarian aid to help Ukrainian citizens and families who have been displaced during this crisis."
We previously reported that Ford closed two factories in Russia . One was the Assembly Naberezhnye Chelny plant in St. Petersburg, and the other was an engine plant in Elabuga. However, this isn't the only move by the automotive sector; companies like BMW have also announced the cessation of their operations and sales in the country. This leads us to think, "If everyone is siding with Ukraine, then Russia must be wrong."
No?
