Chinese manufacturer Geely-Auto has officially begun operations in Spain as part of its expansion strategy in Western Europe. The brand's commercial launch in the Spanish market is planned for the first half of 2026, and the company has already finalized its initial agreements with dealerships to prepare your entrance.
Spain is emerging as a key market as part of Geely's growth plans in Europe. Founded in 1997 and headquartered in Hangzhou, China, the company has been expanding its international presence in recent decades, with a range focused on electrified vehicles.
Li Lei, head of Geely Auto in Spain, highlighted the interest of the Spanish market in new mobility proposals and the importance that the country will have within the group's European strategy, supported by a network of dealerships that will be deployed progressively.
Two electrified models for launch
Geely Auto's initial offering in Spain will consist of two electrified modelsThe E5 and the Starray EM-i. Both reflect the brand's multi-propulsion approach in its transition to electrification.
El Geely E5 is a Mid-size electric SUV With a power output of 160 kW (218 hp) and a range of up to 475 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle, it uses a battery developed by the brand itself, available in two capacities (60 and 69 kWh), and supports fast charging, allowing it to go from 30% to 80% battery capacity in about 20 minutes.
In turn, the Starray EM-i is a plug-in hybrid It combines a combustion engine developed by Horse Powertrain—the joint venture between Geely and Renault based in Spain—with a 160 kW electric motor. The system offers a combined output of 262 hp and two battery options (18,4 and 29,8 kWh), with a total range of up to 943 kilometers in the WLTP cycle.
Both models incorporate advanced connectivity systems, driver assistance features, and safety equipment, and have been developed on the Geely group's technology platform.
