The Skoda Octavia is the D-segment saloon from the Czech firm. Like many models of the Volkswagen Group, the Octavia shares elements with the Volkswagen Golf or the Volkswagen Jetta.

Technical characteristics of the Skoda Octavia 2013

Its dimensions are 4,67 meters long, 1,81 meters wide and 1,46 meters high, thus having a wheelbase of 2,68 meters, which offers the Czech sedan one of the best habitability in the segment. In addition, its weight is also very low, reaching 1.200 kilograms in some versions.
Its trunk, on the other hand, is one of the best in the segment, counting on 590 liters, which will be enough for a family of four to transport their belongings on a long journey.
Mechanical range and gearboxes of the Skoda Octavia 2013
The mechanical offer of the Skoda Octavia is very complete. Most of its versions have front-wheel drive, except for the RS 2.0 TDI that has all-wheel drive. On the other hand, all engines are available with manual and automatic DSG gearbox.
Starting with gasoline engines, we find four different engines that offer different powers. The 1.0 TSI that offers 115 horsepower, the 1.4 TSI that is capable of developing 110 and 150 horsepower depending on the version, the 1.8 TSI that provides 180 horsepower and the 2.0 TSI, the most powerful and sporty of the Czech model, capable of delivering 230 or 245 horses depending on the version.
Regarding diesel engines, two different propellants are available capable of offering three different powers that will be adjusted to the needs of the client. On the one hand, the 1.6 TDI delivers 115 horsepower, and the 2.0 TDI, one of the most used engines in the Volkswagen Group, is capable of developing two different powers depending on the version, on the one hand 150 horsepower, and the most powerful version , reserved for top-of-the-range finishes, with 184 horses.
To finish, there is also a CNG version -Compressed Natural Gas- that develops a power of 1.4 horsepower with a 110-liter engine.
Equipment of the Skoda Octavia 2013
The Skoda Octavia has six different trim levels. Starting from the smallest to the largest number of comfort, technology and safety elements included as standard in the Czech model, they are: Like, Active, Ambition, Style, Laurin&Klement and RS. This last finish is the sportiest within the range.
As standard, in the most basic finish, the Like, has elements such as an 8-inch touch screen called Bolero, SmartLink, rain and light assistant, rear parking sensors, reversing camera, among others.

The Czech saloon obtained in the European car safety tests the highest score, 5 stars.
Regarding specific security sections, achieved 93% and 86% in safety for adults and infants respectively, 66% in protection for pedestrians and 66% in the operation of security systems.

The main rivals of the Skoda Octavia are vehicles of the same segment and included in general brands. The most prominent are the Ford Mondeo, Hyundai i40 or Honda Civic Sedan.

The price range of the Octavia starts from 15.600 Euros of the Like version together with the 1.0-horsepower 115 TSI engine, up to the 31.300 Euros of the sportiest version of the Czech sedan, the Octavia RS245 with the 2.0 horsepower 245 TSI engine coupled to the DSG automatic gearbox.
