Polestar it is owned by Geely, as is Volvo. The Swedes have found in the Chinese a powerful ally with which to join forces for the future. Separated from the conventional range, the Polestars are considered as the electric Volvos. Their commercial offer continues to grow in Europe and in Spain, where they have recently landed with the Polestar 2. Polestar 3 It is officially presented in society during the fall of 2022, being the third model of the family to be launched. Later the Polestar 4 and Polestar 5.
Polestar was born as the racing and high-performance division of Polestar, competing internationally with such interesting products as the Volvo C30 Polestar. Nevertheless, the entry into play of electric mobility has forced the conversion of the division, placing it as an incipient brand in the electric segment. Although at first they opted for partial electrical systems, as is the case with the Polestar 1, the move to total electrification has been what has ended up making the difference.
Technical characteristics of the Polestar 3
The entire Polestar range rests on the same modular platform. The well-known CMA architecture is used in the Polestar 3 with slightly larger dimensions to those of his little brother, the Polestar 2, entering the category of D-segment SUVs. There is only one possible body with very closed design packages between versions, which does not give rise to the same customization that rival models can offer.
To date it is the largest model of the Swedish company. Externally it reaches 4,9 meters long, 1,97 meters wide and 1,61 meters high.. To these measures must be added a wheelbase of 2,98 meters, which translates into a generous interior space for a maximum of five passengers. In terms of load capacity, they offer two trunks; the front one offers a fixed volume of 32 litres, while the rear trunk offers a minimum of 484 liters, expandable to 1.411 liters if the second row of seats is folded down completely.
Mechanical range and gearboxes of the Polestar 3

Like the 2, the company's third model is presented with an exclusively electric approach. Beneath the attractive bodywork is a more dominant format than that of its little brother. The mechanical range will be short, only two options. Both have a very similar structure: dual motor and Nickel, Cadmium and Manganese ion battery manufactured by CATL with two different capacities: 88 and 102 kWh net capacity.
At a first level of performance we find the model Long Range Single Motor with 333 horsepower and 604 kilometers of autonomy. Immediately above is the Long Range Dual Motor. It boasts 544 horsepower and 740 Nm of torque. byThanks to its higher-capacity battery, it offers a certified range of 635 kilometers. Above that, we find the unit Performance . reach the 680 horsepower, 870 Nm of torque and an approved autonomy of 593 kilometers.
For recharging Polestar opts for high power systems. ANDn direct current loads up to 350 kW are allowed, which translates into minimal recharging times, being able to go from 10 to 80% of the battery capacity in just 22 minutes (in ideal conditions). In alternating current, a maximum power of 11 kW is offered, which means a full charge in about eleven hours.
Equipment of the Polestar 3

As expected, and as a good sister brand of Volvo, the Polestar 3 offers an interior where equipment and quality stand out. The cabin has excellent materials, soft surfaces with a pleasant touch that generate a high sensation of comfort for all occupants. The customization options are limited, something that is a weak point compared to its German rivals.
The range of equipment is structured according to the mechanical versions. The standard endowment is quite generous, although the performance package allows you to include particular details such as elements in gold, the increase in power or improvements at a technical and dynamic level such as the personalized adjustment of the suspension or the brakes. Aesthetically, it must be recognized that they are very similar.
As far as systems and technologies are concerned, the Polestar 3 offers many outstanding technologies, being one of the first models on the market to offer state-of-the-art LiDAR radars. In addition to that, elements such as: LED headlights, digital instrumentation, a 14,5-inch touchscreen multimedia system, Android Auto operating system, remote updates, parking cameras and much more stand out, including a level 2 autonomous driving program.
