The irruption of electric mobility has stimulated the arrival of new participants in the international market. China offers a wide variety of products, brands and versions. Currently, many of the Asian companies are beginning to enter Europe, attracted by the new restriction regulations that will come into force in 2035. The BYD Act 3 It is one of the latest models to arrive in Spain. A very interesting product with great value for money.

Although it is not until the beginning of 2023 when BYD officially arrives in Spain, the offer of models from the Chinese brand includes a wide range of possibilities. The Atto 3 is the smallest and most economical model in the family, below BYD Han and BYD Tang. Originally presented in the year 2022, it is presented in SUV format with advanced technology and a quality superior to the general standard of the European market. Its intention is to position itself in a middle ground between the general and premium markets.

Technical characteristics of the BYD Atto 3

Despite being designed and developed in China, the Atto 3 has a clear European influence in its design. Under its attractive bodywork hides the e-Platform 3.0 architecture. It has been created to be used exclusively in 100% electric models of the BYD brand and to integrate the Blade-type batteries developed by the manufacturer itself. This same structure is used by the other two models of the house.

Thanks to the adaptability of the platform, BYD is able to offer the Atto 3 in the increasingly competitive European electric C-SUV segment. Its measurements are perfectly located within the category: 4,45 meters long, 1,87 meters wide and 1,61 meters high. To these dimensions we must add a wheelbase of 2,72 meters, a significant length for a model of this size.

Given its proportions, the BYD Atto 3 is especially functional for use as the only vehicle in a family of four. The space in the rear seats is quite generous. To this must be added a trunk with a minimum capacity of 440 liters, expandable to 1.338 liters when the second row of seats is fully folded in a 60:40 ratio.

BYD Atto 3 mechanical range

Although in China BYD offers a very varied mechanical range in its entire product portfolio, to Europe they only bring 100% electric models. Like all cars produced in Asia, customization is quite limited. The Atto 3 focuses exclusively on a single electric version that offers a compromise between performance and consumption. Like the battery, the motor is developed by the company itself. Power goes to the front axle.

Mounts a single block on the front axle with 204 horsepower and 310 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7,3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 160 km/h. Between the axes it installs an LFP (Lithium-Iron-Phosphate) battery with a capacity of 60,48 kWh that allows it to approve a autonomy in WLTP cycle of 420 kilometers with an average consumption of 15,6 kWh per 100 kilometres.

BYD Atto 3 Equipment

Until now we have always thought that cars made in China offered a lower quality than normal in Europe, but the local industry has considerably improved the materials to offer the same standards that we are used to in the Old Continent. From inside the Atto 3 offers very good finishes, in addition to a very technological presentation in which nothing is missing.

For Spain, BYD proposes different equipment lines: Comfort and Design. The main differences between them lie in the equipment, with practically no discrepancies at an aesthetic level. The two units are equipped with the same mechanical assembly already mentioned, homologating the same benefits and autonomy.

As far as equipment is concerned, the Atto 3 offers cutting-edge technologies that have nothing to envy to other European models. Elements such as LED headlights, keyless access and start, digital instrumentation, multimedia system with 15,6-inch touch screen, wireless charger, Internet connection, panoramic roof, leather upholstery and a complete team of assistants with a level 2 stand out. autonomous driving.

BYD Atto 3 Rivals

Given that the C-SUV segment increasingly offers more possible alternatives and that the Atto 3 can be positioned between the two main markets, the list of rivals for the Chinese model is long.
