We continue with the end of the year reviews, and it has been a year in which a very important amount of novelties has been presented. Although we have already reviewed 5 of the biggest releases of 2015, sports cars have a lot to say. And I mean real sports. Here you have 5 radical sports cars presented in 2015.
By radical sports car we mean a sports car from birth that has also been specifically developed for even more performance. These cars many times oriented to its use in circuit, although with registration, have been one of the discordant notes this year. The candidates have not been few but we are going to keep only 5 that can make a difference.
Porsche Cayman GT4
It is the car that everyone has in their mouths. It is the Porsche that everyone has in their mouths. And it's not the 911. The Porsche Cayman GT4 has earned a place on our list, being one of the hottest sports launches of the year. Let them tell 911, which has never had such a close and effective rival at home. If there were doubts between the Cayman and the 911, now we clear them up for you.
The Cayman GT4 is radical in conception. They have one new aerodynamics with adjustable rear spoiler and elements taken directly from the 911. This is the case, for example, of the 3.8 liter naturally aspirated engine, which yields a power of 385 horses. And it's manual! There are not too many concessions to comfort, and if we are serious we can ask for it with a roll cage or backet type seats. Its price? 99.000 Euros, but its production of 2.500 units already has an owner.
Porsche RS 911 GT3
We knew the 911 GT3, but we clearly wanted more. This is how the Porsche 2015 GT911 RS has arrived in 3, a high-performance machine where the only important thing is to run. You will know him by his large rear spoiler, its central exhaust or its single-nut wheels. Inside what you will see will be a couple of backpacks and, again, for those who are serious, it comes with a roll cage, harness and fire extinguisher.
You probably need that radical package, as its engine makes 25 hp more than the standard GT3. Are 500 horses of power and a weight that does not reach 1.500 kilos. But part of the charm of it lies in the chassis of it. It is wider than the GT3, it has a differential electronically controlled self-locking on the rear axle and, on the same axle, a steering system that speeds up its movements. Get ready, yes, to open the wallet. It costs a whopping 208.500 Euros.
Lamborghini Aventador SV
If the GT3 are the rebels of Porsche, the SV are in the Italian brand. The Lamborghini Aventador SV is one of the most anticipated arrivals throughout 2015, and it has not disappointed. It's rawer, more aggressive, more powerful, and faster than the standard Aventador. Forget about stupid things that have nothing to do with driving. This is the wildest Italian bull.
With the name Aventador LP 750-4 SV, things are clear. The power of the V12 has been increased up to 750 horses, while the weight has reduced by 50 kilos compared to the standard model. There is new aerodynamics and this allows it to exceed 350 km/h. 0-100 is completed in just 2,8 seconds. If style is your thing, in addition to power and speed, you also have the Aventador SV Roadster, of which there will only be 500 units. Think twice, here is part of 444.000 Euros.
BMW M4 GTS
We may have downgraded sharply, but let me tell you that the BMW M4 GTS is one of the most interesting and special radical sports cars of 2015. The reason is simple, it unleashes pioneering technology on the streets. arrive with water injection to the engine, the first car to do so in the series. As if that were not enough, it also launches OLED technology, something that we will soon see in the rest of the manufacturers.
It is based on the BMW M4, but adds a new aero kit with rear spoiler included, carbon fiber elements and an important weight reduction: 27 kilos. The engine is the 3.0 supercharged from the M4, but this time it reaches the 500 horses of power thanks, among others, to the aforementioned water injection system. We are sitting on some backpacks and behind our head rests a roll cage if we opt for the Clubsport package. We still do not know its price in Spain, but it is expected to exceed 130.000 euros.
Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport
I know what you're going to tell me. Why have I downgraded to a sports compact? Well, I have a good reason, and that is that there is a real sporting battle in this segment. There are many contenders, the Civic Type R, also introduced this year, is one of the options, but the Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport is something special. Is he Most powerful Golf GTI of all time.
Ride a 2.0 TSI 265 horsepower which, momentarily (10 seconds), can boost your performance up to 290 horses. And it's not all. There is new functional aerodynamics with new front bumper and rear spoiler, 19-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, new steering wheel and bucket seats, electronically controlled mechanical differential, new suspensions and stabilizer… It's a little slower than a full Golf R. Now do you understand? We do not know the price yet but it would be around 35.000 euros.
